Investigación

Forest community ecology: my aim is to understand the impact of management actions and disturbances on forest community dynamics including plants and soil biota (fungi, bacteria), identifying the underlying ecological mechanisms and processes involved. However, as my career has progressed, I started focusing on forest ecosystem dynamics and their links to alternative states theory, as well as over resistance and resilience concepts as important elements for forest management and planning.
