International relationships

The Department has a remarkable international projection that has been increased and consolidated in recent years. Specifically, since 2006 the staff of the department has participated in numerous exchanges with other universities and research centers within teh scope of International Programs. Among them, we can highlight the ones sponsored by the AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation) and other cooperation agencies and scientific and technical exchange with Latin America, specifically with Mexico (International Center for Breeding Maize and Wheat, CIMMYT), Costa Rica (Center for Research in Cellular and Molecular Biology CIBCM) and Argentina (Faculty of Agronomy, University of Buenos Aires), as well as North Africa, (University of Manar, Tunis). The Department also participates in international research and development consortia of the European Union (OECD), Latin America (FONTAGRO) and North America (Gates Foundation).
